What We Build

Steel & Metal Pole Buildings

Metal buildings and structures that meet a variety of needs: barndominiums, garages, shops, agricultural and equestrian, and buildings for commercial use.

A pole building is a post-frame structure: treated posts set into the ground carry engineered trusses, so the frame does the work and the floor stays open. On a large clear-span building that goes up faster and costs less than stick framing. CDA Structures builds them across Idaho, Washington and Montana.

Barndominiums are our specialty

The building we are asked for most, and the one we have taken furthest, is the barndominium: finished living space and shop or garage bays under a single post-frame roof. It is the same structure we have been putting up for shops and barns for years, with one end built out to live in. See what a barndominium involves.

Buildings: common questions

01Post frame, all steel, or conventional: which is right for me?
Post frame is the most cost-effective for large clear-span buildings (shops, barns, arenas). All-steel is ideal for maximum durability and fire resistance. Conventional stick-frame works best for finished living spaces or complex rooflines. We'll help you choose based on your use case and budget.
02Can I work with CDA Structures to design my own building?
Absolutely. CDA Structures, Inc. can turn your design into the project you have envisioned. Choose from our pre-engineered designs, or work with our design specialists who will create a plan according to your ideas and instruction. Our design team is very flexible and can meet at all hours of the day and evening.
03How much does a pole building cost?
Every project is priced to its specs, but most post-frame shops and garages land between $20 and $35 per square foot depending on size, wall height, doors, insulation, and site conditions. The fastest way to a real number is a free, no-obligation estimate.
